I've had the great fortune to be a client of Jorges (George) for the last couple of years and can say with resounding confidence that he is hands down, the BEST, most comprehensive Massage Therapist I have ever had work on me. To give you some context, I was a career Firefighter and played Rugby for about 12 years, racking up 15 orthopedic surgeries. I'm basically a "study" in dysfunctional, compensatory movement patterns and imbalances as a result. Despite whatever particular issue I'm there for him to address, his extensive knowledge, experience, and approach enables him to consider and examine the whole body as an interconnected, synergistic machine. Oftentimes, a localized complaint stems from one or more "remote" issues up or downstream from a clients chief complaint. Jorge is extremely adept at finding, uncovering, and treating such scenarios, addressing the root cause of a clients discomfort. I'm one of these people who REALLY want SIGNIFICANT force applied. DEEP tissue work. Jorge is the BEST I've experienced and the first ever to make me "cry uncle"! Lol. That said, he is very calculated and mindful of the level and duration of pressure delivered for any particular situation and patient. Jorge is masterful at "surgically" applying the appropriate pressure, and the selection or manner in WHICH he applies it. As much as I THINK I want and need the "sledge hammer" on everything, Jorge can tell when I'd be better served by a little "tack hammer" as well. Additionally, Jorge will give me recommendations on other therapeutic modalities I can do at home, such as exercises and mobility work, that compliment and reinforce what has been done in the office. Jorge's educated, experienced, and discerning eye enables him to assess me, apply his interventions, and re-assess me, making any changes that may be beneficial. Of ALL the work I've had done on me, using just about every modality available short of stem cells, I believe Jorge has made the most positive impact. In summary, if I won the lottery, I'd employ him full time!

Jorge is a unique individual. He is mature beyond his years and has great ability to effectively relate to a wide range of people: a critical skill in his line of work. Additionally, he is uniquely skilled. His knowledge within the area of corrective and functional training was so exceptional that all the other trainers went to him to problem-solve on behalf of clients. When I started with Jorge Torres I had almost no range of motion when turning my head to the left or right. My Rheumatologist had sent me to sessions at a Hillcrest Rehab Center and there was little progress. I also had an extremely sore left shoulder; I could not lift my arm and hold it up.
Jorge has worked competently assiduously and patiently with me. NOW I can move my head side-to-side more freely and my left shoulder is almost pain free. I guess that about says it-he is indeed a great asset to the "Y".
